The results for this year’s SLC are out. Office of the Controller of Examinations (OCE) published the outcome on Friday (June 19, 2015) with Exam Controller Bishnu Bahadur Dware announcing 47.43 percent (192267) of the total 405338 examinees have passed the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examinations under regular category.
As reported by Republica, of the total passed students, 21,247 have achieved distinction, 90,176 1st division, 76,482 2nd division while 4,362 3rd division.
Of the total 136,051 students who appeared the exams, 13.80 percent (18,728) have passed the SLC exams under exempted category. Of those passed, two (one girl and one boy) secured distinction, 348 achieved 1st division, 14,413 2nd division and 4,015 3rd division.
Similarly, 5,099 students dropped their exams, while exams of 1,199 withheld, 612 canceled and 83 examinees were expelled under regular category.
As many as 9,200 examinees dropped their exams, 209 and 686 had their exams withheld and cencled respectively while 83 were expelled from the exams hall under exempted category.
Over 574,000 students had appeared in the board exams that were held from March 19 to 29. As many as 405,338 students appeared as regulars whereas 145,183 sat as exempted ones in the exams.
For the first time, the technical subject examinees will receive their results under the new grading system.
For the first time in the history of SLC exams, girls outnumbered boys as examinees.
The pass percentage for this year has increased by 3. 35% than that of last year.
